Fable Friends One Layer Easter Card

April 19, 2019 1 Comment

Hi Friends! This past Wednesday night was my monthly All Occasion card class. Yesterday on my blog I shared one of the three card designs we made, and today I’m sharing another. This is a cute one layer card, just stamps, ink and paper. Okay, maybe a couple of other products too! The Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen were something many of the class attendees (mostly new stampers) had never used before – everyone LOVED them! This card is quick and easy to make and it was fun to see the ladies relaxed and in their ‘zen’ as they did their colouring…

The masking technique is also used on this card for the bunny. Two of the class attendees had never stamped before and they just thought the masking was COOLER than a tray of ice-cubes! If you’ve been stamping for a long time, I think you’d agree with me that masking never grows old, especially when you peel it off for the big reveal!

This card may seem pretty simple but I also know there are lots of new stampers who have never used the Watercolor Pencils and/or the masking technique, so I also made a video tutorial. This is such a sweet Easter card to make if you’re short on time and want to give out some cards during this holiday weekend (I personally made FIVE more of these cards yesterday, to hand out with my Hot Cross buns to friends and family).

Here’s the card with the stamped sky & markers on the flowers, instead of the Watercolor Pencils ….

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

What a darling card. Coloured so beautifully.

I'm impressed with the class you taught. Masking would certainly be a good technique to show them.

My department, and affiliate departments, get together (just the clerks–I work in the hospital), to do social things and one of the ladies asked if I would teach a class on card-making. Before I commit, I want to have all my ducks in a row and am thinking about what technique I want to teach a bunch of newbies. Masking would be cool for them.

I'm on my way to look at your video now.

    Hugs,
