Hi Friends! As many of you may know, every Friday afternoon from 1pm – 2pm AST I host a Mystery Stamping Hour in my FaceBook Group. The card I choose for our Mystery Stamping Hour yesterday was a really easy fun fold. I learned of this fold from Oskana Semenska’s beautiful card that she created for our Leaders Project Sheet Group. Click on the button below for her PDF tutorial:
For my card, I used the Beautiful Friendship stamp set, Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper & the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. I also stepped it up a tad with some Gilded Leafing and a Watercolour Resist Technique. To watch how I made this card, here’s my video demonstration for you:
Card Measurements:
- Blushing Bride card stock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ & 7 1/2″
- Basic White – two pieces at 3″ x 5 /4″
- Designer Series Paper: 1″ x 5 1/4″
The second card that I made with this fun fold has an ocean theme to it. I used the Whale Done stamp set, Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, and the Seabed 3D embossing folder:
The stamps that I used on the folded flap are from the Sailing Home stamp set. I also did a little gold embossing with the bubbles by the turtle and also the fishes on the strip of Designer Series Paper.
I inked the turtle with my Night of Navy pad and then tapped on some Shaded Spruce ink before stamping it onto my Basic White card stock. Then I sponged on a bit of Crumb Cake and Old Olive ink. I used the Blending Brushes to also add some Seaside Spray ink for the background.
For the seaweed, inked up the stamp with Granny Apple Green and then tapped on some Shaded Spruce. I lightly misted the inked image with water before stamping it onto my card stock. I love doing this and I do it all the time – it is an easy way to merge colours together and I like the soft edges the water creates with the stamps.
