“Driving By with Peace, Joy & Love” Card Tutorial

February 7, 2022 Leave a Comment

Hi friends! I hope you had a nice weekend! Ours was interesting, to say the least, as a winter storm rolled in on Friday and brought with it HOURS of FREEZING ICE! Yikes! There are lots of trees down and broken branches, but our property didn’t have much damage, thankfully.

Most of Nova Scotia was without power over the weekend (some areas are still without hydro) – and the temperatures dipped down to -16. Fortunately, not only do we have a generator, but we also have a wood stove, so we have been nice and cozy. I will be SO GLAD when winter is over and the warm, sunny days return!

The card tutorial that I’m sharing with you today was created by Barb Brimhall – it is super cute:

Driving By Card

Supplies:

  • Stamp Sets – Driving By Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set*
  • Card Stock – Basic White (159276); Soft Suede (115318); Pear Pizzazz (131201); Simply Marbelous 6”x6” Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper*
  • Stamp Pads – Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
  • Misc. – Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Inspiring Canopy Dies (155963); Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (154887); Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (154904); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755)
  • *Sale-A-Bration items; free with a qualifying order

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”, 3” x 3” scrap
  • Marbelous Paper: 4” x 5-1/2”
  • Soft Suede: 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
  • Pear Pizzazz: 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” cardstock in half at the score line.
  2. Adhere the Balmy Blue Marbelous paper to the front of the base card.
  3. Using the Cut & Emboss Machine, cut the tree die from the Inspiring Canopy Dies out of the Soft Suede cardstock. Trim off at the bottom of the tree trunks and adhere to card base.
  4. Using the Pear Pizzazz ink pad, cut out just the bottom of the tree (the “hill” pattern) and adhere to the bottom of the Marbelous paper. Using the remaining cardstock, cut out multiples of all the branch dies. Adhere to tree branches by using small dots of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  5. Using the Black Memento ink pad, stamp the sentiment between 2 branches on the right side.
  6. Using the scrap of Basic White cardstock, stamp the van from the Driving By stamp set using Black Memento ink. Color in using the Highland Heather Blends and the Light Smoky Slate Blend. Fussy cut out the van and adhere to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish.

Enjoy the day and HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
