Well, I’ve pulled out my poor neglected brayer and have decided to put it back to use! Using a brayer takes practice, but it IS fun and the results are always a “WOW!”. Hopefully my brother, Randy, won’t be checking out this blog (as I doubt he would) because the card shown has just been mailed to him for his birthday! To make this card I tore across a post-it note and placed it 3/4 up on the white card stock. Then, using SU Bashful Blue and Night of Navy, I brayered the sky, keeping a streak of white for the ‘moonlight’. When you pull off the sticky note, you’ve got a landscape of snow and sky! Magic! I then stamped the trees from the “Lovely as a Tree” set (one of Stampin’ Up!’s all time most popular stamp sets!) and embossed it it clear (I used Black Craft Ink). For the shadows I used my aqua painted and Bashfull Blue ink. The wolf is from the retired stamp set “Wildlife Reserve”. Finally, I put some Dazzling Diamonds over the snow (who could resist that?).
As a service to my Hostesses and customers, I always have their orders sent to my house, where I sort through and distribute the items and then place a handmade Thank You 3×3 card in with each order and then I deliver them. This is just my way of saying Thanks – I appreciate you and your business! I enjoy making the cards for each and every customer and as I write out my thank you note, I can’t help but feel good as I think of that person and the fun they’re going to have with their new stamp items! In the above photo you’ll some Thank You cards I recently made, and with Easter right around the corner, I couldn’t resist making the cute Easter Bunny treats (with mini York chocolates). All of the cards and bunny treats were made from my scrap basket….I can’t seem to throw away ANY bits of paper so it’s great to put them to good use!
HAPPY STAMPING!
