Happy Friday! Coffee poured and fur-kids at my feet, I started the day off doing some stamping. My desk has been covered with leftover card supplies and I wanted to turn them into new projects. So often my scrap papers, die cuts and bits of ribbons pile up in boxes and containers and before I know it there’s a mountain of ‘stuff’ taking over the studio. Does this happen to you too?
So I’ve decided that I’m going to start having a weekly ‘Bits & Pieces’ day, where I’ll share the cards that I make using leftover pieces from previous projects. So often I’ll have ‘bits & pieces’ leftover from classes, workshops and other projects and I can’t seem to throw anything out. I’m pretty frugal and I also love the challenge of finding new ways to use the ‘leftover’ papers and embellishments.
Today’s cards were made with Delightful Daisy Designer Series paper from a workshop earlier this month. Already cut, some of the DSP pieces measured 5 1/4″ x 2″ and others were 5 1/2″ x 2″; I simply glued them to my card bases.
The Calypso Coral & Powder Pink card stock measures 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and the Whisper White layers are 2″ x 3″. I used the “Tranquil Tulips” host set and embossed sentiments from “Colorful Seasons” stamp set. The ribbons & bows were also bits leftover (which I keep in a tub with other pre-cut ribbon bits).
I decided to add a bit of sparkle to a couple of cards using Tear & Tape Adhesive and gold glitter – how fun! And check out that bumble-bee – I love it! I stamped it first on vellum and then again on So Saffron card stock and used a glue dot to hold the two pieces together.
It is really fun to use supplies that we have on hand with the leftovers scattered on our desks and just CREATE. And the bonus is having greeting cards on hand, ready to give to the special people in our life!
