Hi Friends! Can you believe that we are already mid-October? I can’t. I think I’m also in denial that I have to pull out my sweaters and put our wood stove on. I could really use a bit more summer, sunshine and hot weather. However, I’ll try to spin my ‘positive thinking’ hat and focus on all the cozy & grateful reasons I love Autumn.
The tuna charters ended this week, so I’m done cooking for them until next year! I’ve been so busy with my end-of-season yard work, canning, etc. I think all I’ve got left to can is our beets (which are still in the garden), our pumpkins (we picked them yesterday), some more hot pepper zucchini jelly (using the last of the squash, also picked yesterday), and the rest of our apples. My hubby has been a HUGE help, peeling the apples, filling jars, etc. I think our renovated kitchen has really inspired Brian to want to learn how to cook more – in fact I know it has. It’s wonderful seeing my guy enjoy new things and it’s fun for us to spend time cooking together too.
I’ve still got potatoes and carrots that need to be canned (when I’ve got a chance) and after supper tonight I’ll freeze up the last of our celery. I truly don’t know where the hours go in a day. I do know that I must be in my ‘happy zone’ for the time to fly so fast (surely age has nothing to do with it…. ahem).
We’ve sure been makin’ hay while the sun shines though and taking advantage of every bit of nice weather we get. Aside from a few hot weeks in July, we’ve had a very WET summer and fall, but boy, when the days are sunny and nice they are truly SPECTACULAR!
Yesterday I made a whackadoodle of cards that I want to send out to some of my friends and customers. I couldn’t wait to spend some time in my craft room. Finding a few hours to craft in the midst of my full schedule was pure BLISS.
All the card bases measure 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ when folded. Most of the Designer Series Paper layers are 4″ x 5 1/4″ but I also used some leftover strips that measure 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Nothing fancy, no fun folds, but quick and easy card designs. The paper patterns did most of the work for me! I just stamped my sentiments and added a few embellishments and die cuts! Speaking of sentiments – I pulled out my Paper Pumpkin stamp sets, which I’ve been doing a lot lately. I love these little sets!
This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit was delivered to me today, actually, and I can’t wait to crack into it! However, I may save it for my trip home next week, as I’ll be spending some time with my dad before he has surgery Nov. 2nd (I also want to be home to help with his recovery). Our kits are perfect to travel with and I love that I’ll have everything that I need to craft within a box that will fit into my carry-on luggage!
This month’s kit coordinates with the October Home for the Holidays Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Alrighty, back to my crafty afternoon yesterday, making cards. I hit the record button on my phone and filmed pretty much the entire process of me making THIRTY CARDS! I had no idea how many cards I would be making, what I was going to use, etc. In other words, I had no plan. I just wanted to PLAY – and that I did! Tomorrow I’ll have all the cards ready for the post office and paper hugs will be on their way. Who doesn’t love getting a card in their mail, right? I hope you enjoy my video and seeing how I roll in my stamp room LOL

I do love our Designer Series Papers! Hopefully, today’s cards have given you some inspiration.
I’m off to the kitchen – it’s supper time and my hounds are letting me know LOL. Then it’s back to chopping vegetables…I’d rather craft, but then again, I’m very grateful for this year’s garden and all that we’ll enjoy eating during the winter months. Rosey, Cooper & I are also going to head out to play ball in our yard before it gets dark. There was a gorgeous rainbow a few days ago, actually a double rainbow, but I didn’t get to my camera in time. I’ve added a quote to the picture that I took:
Take care & HAPPY STAMPING!
